The traffic statistics for this site took an unexpected and inexplicable dive on 17th October and remain at less than 20% of the approximate daily average of the previous three months.

Observation of the page views statistics over the past few weeks has shown that the news page is now only being viewed by one or two people per day. The news page has been maintained on a daily basis for three months without fail. However, given that the news gathering and compilation takes up to two hours per day and that the readership can be counted on the thumbs of two hands, the effort to keep the page mantained no longer seems viable.

There have been difficulties with the site which may have contributed to the demise of traffic, the site host - green WEB HOST - offered an onsite search facility which was incapable of indexing the site once it reached an uncertain size (currently a mere 262 pages) and were unwilling to make the necessary server adjustments to allow the indexing script to work correctly.

As a contingency, a Google search facility was implemented but as its effectiveness is dependent on Google's own indexing which, despite optimisation to Google's own criteria and weekly uploads of new sitemaps, only indexes the site about once every fortnight - rendering it virtually useless to a site with daily news updates.

The rest of the site will probably go into hibernation and will, in all likelihood, remain dormant until the domain name or web-hosting expires.
