As there seems to have been a lifting of ongoing IP address ban - in the interest of fairness it is appropriate that a moratorium be established. As such the pages which lay criticism at the feet of IndyMedia UK have been archived. They are still available for viewing for anybody who is interested, mainly because much of what happened is still denied by IndyMedia, i.e. the IP address ban and the expedient hiding and unhiding of articles to attempt to prove points. Enough people know that it has been going on without the silly 'secret service' denials.

Certain topics remain taboo and it seems that they are subject to much greater scrutiny than others. Whilst some posts blatently contravene 'Editorial Guidelines', very often in many ways and remain visible, some posts will be hidden for the slightest infringement. Not unlike the attitude the police are 'alleged' to display towards racial minorities. Let's face it, anybody who has any interest in chemtrails, aspartame, RFID implants, September 11th, the New World Order etc. is marginalised and could be accused of asking to be treated with prejudice.

Frequently, articles have attracted comments demanding evidence. When evidence is presented, more evidence is demanded to the point of exhaustion. Rarely, if ever, does contrary evidence appear. The only contrary argument available is normally in the form of insult.

It would be interesting to know what IndyMedia UK's criteria are. There is a log of admin comments about why an article has been hidden etc. which can be seen at:

http://lists.indymedia.org/pipermail/imc-uk-features

But it is hardly accessible. It took me about an hour to find this page the second time I looked for it and the archive is listed by the subject the admin gives it (e.g. [Imc-uk-features] Hidden) and article numbers are not always given. Alternatively, listing by date or author is the date of the admin action or the admin's name.
