Ron Cobb
The work of Ron Cobb has been an influence on me since I first found some of his books whilst working on the Greenpeace ship Gondwana in 1993. After the Antarctic was declared a World Park it was deemed unnecessary to keep an Arctic Ice Breaking class ship and she was sold off. The crew were told they could help themselves to anything from the library as anything which remained would be left for the new owners. Unfortunately for me all the Ron Cobb books had already gone.

Thanks to eBay, I have managed to track down some of his books which were published in the 1960's. It was strange to see the clearly dated cartoons were still extremely relevent in 1993 but stranger still that they remain relevent.

Since publishing this work, Ron Cobb has gone on to work in the film industry, to his fans perhaps most notably working on Judge Dredd. His political outlook may not be the same but his work might prove to clarify the machinations of the world - perhaps to those who wonder how Bill Hicks would be feeling right now...

Of course there may be an issue of copyright here and I don't want to get anybody's backs up. These images are reproduced here in deference to Ron Cobb's work and in no way is it intended to make any kind of profit from doing so. For anybody who just wants to see the cartoons, I apologise, but I thought that this needed pointing out. So it is felt by anybody who owns the copyright of this work that it should be removed, you only have to say so.
