Probably the most revealing statement made by a member of the British general public in the wake of the combines events of July 2005.

Certainly, George Orwell would have been rolling on the floor had he still been around to hear it. And it appears to represent the attitude of the mass-media dependent members of the public who are fed information on the crest of a wave of sensationalism but are later subtly kept in the dark when the truth of the matter is finally revealed.

Regardless of where the information originated, the media enthusiastically delivered the information that Jean Charles de Menezes was 'directly linked' to the ongoing and expanding anti-terrorist operation' and that his 'clothing and behaviour' added to their suspicions. There were differing accounts of what he was wearing but it was widely circulated that he wore a thick padded jacket.

It was later revealed that he had failed to obey instructions when challenged by the police. There were undenied reports that he had vaulted the ticket barrier and run from the pursuing officers, he did not have a ticket and that his visa had expired.

However, it has been revealed that none of this is true. Photographs clearly show that he was wearing a denim jacket and it is now clear that he did have a valid visa. He was travelling using an Oyster Card and at no time did he run from the police.

As has been very typical since September 11th, high profile anti-terrorist activity has been followed by low profile release of information which would counter the official story that the 'war on terror' is being successfully prosecuted. On many occasions front page news stories of the apprehension of terrorist suspects has been followed weeks later by column bottom snippets of their subsequent release.

The clip is part of the Infowars film, 'London Torture' shot in the days following the public excecution of an innocent Brazillian, Jean Charles de Menezes, at Stockwell underground station in London.
