| Several eBay buyers have reported problems with an eBay trader using the name blacksilvertech - mainly very late delivery and missing items - and particularly those who purchased a portable DVD player, an example of which can be seen here: It includes the following information (see images right): Free Portable Carry Case - can be fitted on headrest and under the shipping tab at the bottom: UK All mainland standard addresses GBP 19.99 Next Day Postage The seller charged buyers £19.99 for next day shipping by CityLink. However, in the case of my purchase, after three days the item had not arrived. The seller was contacted several times by e-mail - blacksilvertech@hotmail.co.uk -but there was no response. The seller's contact details were requested from eBay but when the phone number provided, +44 (0)207 093 1621, was dialled it was discovered to be that of a fax machine and nobody answered. Several calls to CityLink revealed that there was no delivery in their system for me. The next day the seller sent an e-mail stating that the item was not in stock and supplies were in transit from China. The question must be asked how an eBay seller can be allowed to advertise items for sale with next day delivery when they are not even in stock? The e-mail gave another delivery date - the 2nd July 2007 - but that date came and went without delivery and more e-mails were sent without response. CityLink again stated that there were no deliveries scheduled for my address. An 'item not received' report was raised via eBay but as the item was purchased using PayPal the page was redirected to a PayPal complaint process and the issue was pursued there. There was still no response from the seller, blacksilvertech, and after several days the claim was escalated to a claim for a refund. Quite unexpectedly, on 6th July 2007, the item arrived. However, after an inspection of the contents it was discovered that the case, which was included in the price, was missing. On returning to the PayPal Resolution Centre there did not seem to be a process for commuting a refund claim for an item not received to an item not as described - so I decided to close the claim and open another one - but as I soon discovered, the PayPal complaints procedure does not allow for this either. I have written numerous subsequent e-mails to the seller, blacksilvertech, and PayPal. The seller has never responded to the complaint that the item was incomplete and PayPal have metaphorically turned their palms upwards in a gesture indicating that they are not prepared to assist in any way and that without explaining on their website how to go about such an issue, once a claim is closed they will not offer any support. This is a gross failing on the parts of PayPal/eBay. The seller, blacksilvertech, should refund all the buyers who had to wait two weeks for delivery, having paid for 24 hour shipping AND have all missing items supplied. eBay have blocked me from contacting other unhappy customers of blacksilvertech. There is no doubt that there are many happy customers but this is an example of eBay Feedback from other buyers with similar problems with this seller who feel that they have not been treated fairly:
